As many of you know from reading my columns in Private Pilot and Custom Plane Magazines, I am always on the look out for products that aircraft owners and pilots would need and could use. Through the years, I have bought and used every product that I have recommended. Things that I consider practical for pilots and aircraft owners; everything from pilot watches and sunglasses to flight planning software. Whether it is a new GPS, headsets or even a hand held computer, it is a personal quest, looking for something to make my life easier, safer and more efficient as a business owner, parent and pilot. As a pilot and an aviation business person, most life insurance companies put restrictions on my flying, increasing the rates substantially or not providing coverage at all while I was flying. That was not going to work for me. I wanted life insurance that would cover me while I was flying a private plane or driving my car…at all times.

I liked the product and became licensed with the company to sell term and whole life insurance polices. Midland offers a great term life insurance policy at a reasonable price and without treating me, a pilot, differently than any other person. Getting appropriate (and good quality) life insurance usually will require that you complete an application. After the application is received, the underwriters will request a pari-med examination for your location. After that is complete and all the underwriters’ questions are answered, we will receive a final quote.
